I'm Nick Geerts, an experienced software developer with a MSc degree in computer science. I'm specialized in creating state-of-the-art websites and web, mobile and tablet applications using the latest technologies.
I'm a full stack (frontend and backend) developer and prefer to use the best tools for the job. For web development I use Typescript, React, Redux, Apollo, Prisma and Node.js. For developing apps, I use React Native and Expo to form a powerful application development stack.
I have also taken a couple of years of education in graphic design. My specialization is web design and the tools I use are Sketch and the Affinity Suite. I use my design knowledge as secondary skills to complement my primary developer skills, making for a close integration between design and development.
I'm always open for collaboration with others in exciting projects. I work closely with visual designer Carolien Stevens from creative studio Sjink.
I am a full stack website developer which means I develop websites from frontend to backend. The websites I develop are responsive, this means they are viewable from the smallest mobile phone screens to the largest desktop monitors.
For web development I use Typescript, React, Redux, Apollo, Prisma and Node.js.
I also design websites, making for a close integration between design and development. My web designs are responsive and also support high resolution retina displays. I like adding motion using CSS animations for a richer user experience.
I use Figma and the Affinity Suite to build my designs and communicate them to the client. Because I am both the designer and developer, I can translate the design to HTML efficiently without a detail getting lost in the communication between a designer and developer.
Next to this, I also develop web, phone and tablet apps using React Native and Expo to form a powerful application development stack.
The tools I use are based on web technology for more efficient development and cross-platform support. This means it will run on every popular phone and tablet, whether it runs on iOS or Android.
